Connecting With Our Children Through Storytelling (for parents)
Sharing stories with our children not only increases early language development but it also enhances their ability to express themselves, tap into their imagination and to communicate their thoughts, feelings and ideas. Through this workshop, parents will gain confidence in their own storytelling abilities, learn fun techniques for telling and explore creative activities that help to inspire and connect more deeply with their little ones through the art of story sharing. This is an interactive workshop where we will get to hear a story, tell a tale and sing a song or two.
Connecting With Our Students Through Storytelling (for teachers)
In this interactive workshop, Connecting with Our Students Through Storytelling, Muriel combines her storytelling talent with 30 years of teaching experience at a Reggio Emilia–inspired school. Teachers listen to stories performed live & learn practical techniques to capture stories from their own students. Through fun, hands-on theater games, participants explore how to use body language, character voice, and facial expression to enhance their storytelling & keep students engaged. Attendees also actively participate in a variety of literacyrich activities that can be easily integrated into everyday lessons. Together, teachers sing, create original stories, and tap into their own creativity and childlike imagination. This training also highlights the academic, developmental, and cognitive benefits of storytelling as a powerful educational tool to boost student focus, engagement, and language development. By the end of the workshop, educators leave feeling confident to bring the joy and educational value of storytelling into their classrooms—deepening student connections while supporting language and literacy development.

(for parents and early childhood educators)
Sending your child to preschool is an important and exciting milestone. However, this special time can also be stressful, with feelings of anxiety often arising for both parents and children. During this workshop, we will explore solutions and suggestions to help make the transition to preschool easier for everyone. Caregivers and parents will walk away with tips and tools for managing separation anxiety, adapting to a new routine, understanding expectations, and navigating other common preschool challenges. Participants will also be encouraged to share their own experiences and perspectives so we can learn from one another. This workshop also includes active and practical steps schools can take to prepare new students and parents for the transition to preschool.

“I Can Tell Too!" Awakening the Storyteller Within
Through this interactive workshop, students will begin by listening to a story and analyzing how it made them feel. Through this process, they will identify what happens in the tale and how the actions were relayed. They will learn to notice intonations, gestures, sounds, and body motions, and consider the basic elements that make a story. After this exploration, students will share their own stories, choosing from mediums such as props, nesting dolls, puppets, written or retold folktales, or made-up tales. This workshop can take place in one or two parts, allowing students to go deeper into telling stories.
